A performance in a bank hall, Hamburg – Germany 1997

“In a banking hall people are waiting to be served. A woman dressed in white is approaching the counter, shouts out into the hall, is attracting attention. She kneels down, people are taking pictures of her. She sings. The surrounding people are watching her. Then a special police unit is confronted with this fragile woman. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Exact planning meets contingency. A piece of art is confronted with reality. A tightrope walk between absurdity, exaggeration and sensibility.”
